the ginkgo tree (or maidenhair) is an ancient medicinal tree that can live over a thousand years (Ginkgo biloba is the oldest living tree species) ~ due to its endurance, it is a symbol of longevity + is regarded as a "bearer of hope." 🌿
In the wild, however, it is now rarely found ~ this is perhaps due to deforestation. Because of its rarity in the wild, it is listed on the IUCN Red List as an endangered species.Â
It is a uniquely beautiful tree that has an incredibly rich cultural + meaningful history + has been used medicinally for centuries.
These earrings feature the ginkgo leaf, which is pewter. The pewter does tarnish + will need some polishing (or try using a paste of baking soda + water to clean, as we do).
The chain is doubled + is chocolate crystal (4mm) + antique silver plated. There is a single bead added between the chain of each pair. Earwire ~ stainless steel fishhooks.
Length: between 3" + 31/4" from earwire down
